POWERSHOT.

55 days...

As the topic states it. I was really hesitating, but that didn't help.

Yes, i bought a Canon Powershot A430 [a 495DHS value, thus dropping my credit limit]. It's sleek, handy, and a pretty good digicam for an amateur like me. It has no nightmode, but it does have a night snapshot setting... yet even without the setting, the shot alone could actually emphasize what's in the citydarks. I just don't know what it could do in a totally dark environment.

Below is a pic taken from our balcony, the area where SKMC [Sheikh Khalifa Medical City] is located:

SKMC is where my mom works, FYI.

BTW, that image's been quality-reduced. I have no image-editing tools here except for MSPaint. The original resolution was 2272x1704. What i did to resize it was preview it with "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer", press PrintScreen, opened MSPaint, pasted, area selection, cut, new, paste, then save as JPG. I was just astounded by how the colors appeared in the pic though it's nighttime when i took it.

I think this camera's worth it. I mean, a 495DHS [x14 for PhP] value with the important features' not bad, especially when you could get a good pic at night. And to tell you the truth, it was expensive some time ago so i think it's a great buy.

* I'll be trying Jeremiah's attempt on "getting a shot at the moon" with his "Diaz-type" Cam [o.O] since i couldn't do it in my former cam. And i think that a full moon on arab skies' pretty neat.

I'll post the results here if ever i get a good shot. ^^,

Isa sa mga plans ko ung Subway, pero i think that would be possible if someone was with me... baka c ate. ^^,

Pupunta pala kame sa Corniche beach this week, i'll be seeing some good spots.

At... panget ung kuha ko sa moon. I could see some lights pero fuzzy pa rin.

some nice body shots ba? haha jokeness!

anyways, enjoy the beach!

I was talking about spots... meaning places, not bodies.

This tuesday pa sabi ni ate... so that'll have to wait.

hmmm... oo nga nman noh, nakalimutan ko agad un... so short memory... anyways, anong suot ng mga tao dyan kpag nsa beach?

I haven't thought of some other foreigners coming there... uu nga pala public beach un. o.O

Great idea, Ida! I'll try my best to get a good spot! /gg

Pero usually people come there for camping and barbeque. That's as far as i know. Lam ko pede rin magswimming ek-ek pero i've only seen a few the last time i've been there.

Last year pa un, and December nun. So di ko lam baka marame tao ngaun since summer. Ako? Who says i'm gonna go swimming? Mangunguha lang ako ng pics. Dunno about my sis.

Sa "Diaz" cam, you will be needing to take the picture ng matagal, like keeping the lens open for minutes or hours, just to capture the minimal light from the darn heavenly body. Your camera has to absorb a lot of light, so maybe there is a calibration to do that diyan. And that also means, either keep your hands steady OR buy a tripod.

Tried it out. I need a tripod indeed. Hirap kunan ng buwan ng steady. o.O

I'll be posting some of my shots at Corniche with my sis and her kids later.
